Online payments giant PayPal will allow its customers to buy, sell and hold bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptoassets using the US digital payments company’s online wallets over the coming weeks, Reuters reported, citing President and Chief Executive Dan Schulman.
The company plans to expand to Venmo and some countries in the first half of 2021.
PayPal customers will also be able to use cryptocurrencies to shop at the 26 million merchants on its network starting in early 2021, the report added.
At pixel time (12:03 UTC), BTC trades at USD 12,336 and is up by 4.6% in a day and 8% in a week.
